(editors note: This lady escaped her situation years ago. )
Please share what happened to you:
Honestly, I’m still processing things. I keep myself busy so I don’t have to. I put my faith and trust in all the wrong people- at this point- I’m numb. I’m not ready to face it. At times- I still feel it’s presence.
How are you doing now?
I just keep busy. I find happiness in the little things.
Is there anything about domestic violence you’d like to tell the world?
Please, women and men (and children!) learn to depend on no one but yourself. Take care of YOU. You have to make yourself happy, NO one else will do it for you.
Thank you M. W. for sharing this with me.
Thank all of you, for sharing. I’m glad you’re all still here to be able to share. I’m glad you’re all thriving through surviving and I want you to know it’s a great thing you’re doing by not staying silent.
Women need to know (and abused men) that it’s alright to speak up and share. It’s alright to have been in the positions we’ve been in. It’s important to us all, and the survival of those who’ve been abused, to know they can and should share.
Thank you… I love you.
